According to the calendar (though not so much the weather), spring has sprung across the land. Spring being the time of year where things are born anew, we thought that this would be a great time to unveil the NEW Office for Education Policy website: www.officeforeducationpolicy.org.  For those of you who may have already clicked on any old link taking you to our site, you should have been redirected to our new space on the web with what we believe is a improved, sleeker, more user-friendly interface.

However, our new look does not mean that we have changed everything! For example, our navigation menu across the top of the website still includes links to all of our OEP publications such as Policy Briefs, Arkansas Education Reports (including the annual OEP Awards), Arkansas Report Cards, and Opinion and Commentary pieces published by members of our office.

We also still have access to multiple years of download-able school and district level data on our Arkansas Schools Data page. Just like our old site, on this page, you can access school- and district-level test scores for the Benchmark, EOC, and Iowa Test of Basic Skills exams as well as demographics data for your school or district.

Facebook_IcontwitterWe’ve also added some NEW features as well. For example, if you look at the picture above, you will see three small icons in the top right of the homepage. Here we have a link to email us  (the envelope), to “Like” our OEP Facebook Page (the ‘f’ icon), and finally, to follow the OEP on Twitter (the bird icon). In addition, we have  replaced our  old “In The News” section by incorporating our tweets highlighting relevant Arkansas education news. You can find these tweeted news stories, as well as recent posts to the website, and recent posts to the OEP Blog constantly scrolling on the new OEP Homepage. Better yet, follow the OEP on Twitter…or ‘Like’ us on Facebook, so you can stay up to date with the OEP in multiple ways!!!

We hope you will take some time to click around on the new site, familiarize yourself with the format/layout, read up on some of our publications, or download some of the Arkansas Schools Data…then, revisit this post and leave us a comment. We redesigned our site with you in mind, thus your feedback regarding what works, and what is ‘clunky’ will only help us improve the usability of our site. Happy clicking!
