OEP joins the 21st Century

In The View from the OEP on January 25, 2011 at 6:13 pm

Hello all, we wanted to provide a little commentary about this new blog and a few of the other steps we are taking to be part of the 21st century. Additionally, we would like to provide some direction about how you can join us. 🙂

Our goal at the OEP is to provide information that will, hopefully, facilitate meaningful discussion regarding education policy in Arkansas. However, it was recently brought to our attention that the conversation has only been “one-way” up to this point.  In the past we have submitted a few articles that have drawn some intense reactions. When we designed this blog, we wanted to provide a way for people to provide feedback about the articles or reports we release so that there could be more discussion about how to best improve education in Arkansas. The blog setup enables others to post comments, responses, or other pertinent feedback to the ed stories around the state and the nation.

How to Subscribe to the Blog

If you are not a native-tech-speaker, we thought it might be helpful to provide a few instructions regarding how to most efficiently use this tool.  If you scroll down to the bottom of the computer screen, you will see a rectangular box below the blog posts. In the far left hand corner of that rectangle, you will see the phrase, “EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION”. If you enter your email address in the box below that phrase, and then click on the phrase “Sign me Up”, you will almost be signed up to receive the blog posts in your email inbox. WordPress will send you an email asking you to validate that you did, in fact, mean to sign up for the Office for Ed Policy Blog. Once you click on that link, you are good to go. You can effortlessly read the OEP Blog as new posts come in.

We hope you join us as we begin using these 21st century tools!
